White Christmas

 This is what our back yard looked like the morning after Christmas.  4+ inches of beautiful white snow! We are loving the snow, as living in Virginia we do not get a white Christmas like we did growing up in Wisconsin.

What a wonderful gift from God to remind us Onto us a Child is born. Jesus has given us the ultimate gift and once again has made everything a new.

Thankfullness

This Thanksgiving I have so many things to be thankful for.

My husband is the best husband anyone could ask for. He is my hero in so may ways. He knows how to make me laugh, he lets me cry, ramble, and act crazy without saying much. He is an amazing dad to our son E. They have the best time playing together. He even does the dishes and does laundry. Yes you read it right he does the laundry and dishes:) He is a hard and devoted worker.

Evan is an amazing kid who has come so far in life. He loves animals, family and soccer. He knows how to make us laugh with some of his craziness. He is starting to learn how to cook. This remains a work in progess.


My parents. I could not have asked for better parents. They are loving, funny, and my best friends.  We do everything with them and love every minute of it.  Without my parents my family would not be where we are today.

This Thanksgiving was very different as we left at 4am to pick my mom up and leave for Tennessee to meet my dad who is working on his parents house that burned a few months ago. We had a great 6 hour road trip. When we got to the hotel we picked up my dad and went to an apple orchard for Thanksgiving. The portions were huge and absolutely delicious!!! We had so much food that we came home with left overs! Yum Yum:) Turkey sandwich at 8 pm tasted so good.

Friday morning we woke up early got some breakfast and no we did not go out into the crazy crowds we went to the house and starting working. It was dark and cold until the sun came out because there is no power or heat yet as the roof has big holes in it. Mom and I worked on cleaning some of the trash out of the rooms and worked on raking the leaves and trimming the bushes and trees, cleaning the carport out and started washing the smoke and sute off of the walls. While we were slaving working away Jeremy and my dad were busy hauling out the refrigerator, stove and deep freezer to the curb.  We then worked on tearing out the back deck and porch.  The house is really starting to look better! Still has a long way to go before anyone can live there but the whole weekend we had fun even if we were working.

Saturday we drove back home to be met with laundry, grocery shopping and raking leaves. All in all it was a great Thanksgiving and just goes to show how much I have to be Thankful for. I have a roof over my head, food to eat, warm clothes to wear, and most of all a loving family.

This is not how I thought we would spend Thanksgiving this year as we do not know if Jeremy will be home next year for Thanksgiving. See tomorrow Jeremy goes to see the recruiter tomorrow for his weigh in and if everything goes the way it is suppose to then he will go to MEPS on Friday and sign to join the Army.  After this weekend I could not think of a better way to spend Thanksgiving.  Hoping you had a great Thanksgiving too!!
